NIED provided lectures and a tour for the specialists from the Republic of Kenya

Four specialists visited NIED on a training award of JICA, for a training course in the field of Integrated flood management.

On the 16th of May, 2007, as a part of the training award of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), a training course in the field of Integrated Flood Management, four specialists from the Republic of Kenya visited NIED. They are the staff of the governmental organizations which implement the management of flood control and water resources in Kenya. The purpose of their visit was to learn about technologies for disaster prevention in Japan. We provided two lectures for flood risk mapping and disaster risk governance and we took them on a tour of the Large-scale earthquake simulator and the Large-scale rainfall simulator for them.
