The signing Ceremony of the MOU between KIGAM and NIED.
After signing the MOU, the President of KIGAM, Dr. Lee and the President of NIED, Dr. Okada had a firm handshake.
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING between Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources and National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention
KIGAM and NIED concurred on the importance of scientific and technical cooperation in research on geohazards and earthquakes to develop and promote cooperation for their mutual benefits in this field.
The purpose of the cooperation is to promote exchange information on geohazards and seismological data between KIGAM and NIED, to improve the capability of monitoring geohazards and seismic activity in and around Korea and Japan, and for the promotion of research on geohazards and earthquakes in both countries.
On the 7th of December, 2006, the signing ceremony of the MOU was held at NIED. The KIGAM delegation visited NIED; the president of KIGAM, Dr. Lee, the Leader of the Earthquake Research Center, Dr. Chi and the Leader of the Landslide Hazards Research Team, Dr. Chae attended the ceremony. After the introduction of each institute, the presidents of KIGAM and NIED signed the MOU.
