Croatian National TV covered NIED
On August 3, a team of Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) visited NIED and interviewed a wide variety of NIED researchers. Dr. Haruo HAYASHI, President of NIED gave an overview on NIED’s activities and disaster resilience, and representatives from each center and department explained about their DRR research and applications. The team also filmed Large-scale Earthquake Simulator and Large-scale Rainfall Simulator, where they experienced 300mm/h torrential rain with strong wind. The content of the interview and filming of the facilities will be broadcasted on the special Olympic programme called "Nippon" early August and longer version of the NIED story to be produced for the TV show called "Puls" at the end of September on HTV.
NIED has built a cooperative relationship with Republic of Croatia in DRR through Japan – Croatia Build Back Better seminars since February this year.
On15 July, H.E. Mr. HRASTIĆ, Ambassador of Croatia visited NIED and had positive discussions with NIED executives about long-term collaboration in DRR.
