Department of Urban Disaster Resilience Engineering studies the mechanisms of social infrastructure that can withstand earthquakes and other severe disasters, and research measures to develop and realize sustainable regional areas and functions that allow people to live safely and securely.

Hyogo Earthquake Engineering Research Center

We are conducting R&D, including experimental research on the seismic performance and functional maintenance of structures, and simulations using data obtained from experiments using 3-D Full-Scale Earthquake Testing Facility (E-Defense) located at the Hyogo Earthquake Engineering Research Center.
