NIED and Esri signed Memorandum of Understanding
The National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED) and Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
NIED has been supporting the local governments and other organizations using Esri’s ArcGIS -based system in life reconstruction assistance for people suffering from the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake, which struck the southern part of Japan in April.
In order to improve support function and develop standard method of disaster management, NIED and Esri will cooperate to enhance the social resilience to natural hazards through personnel exchange or other initiatives based on this agreement.
