Prevention of COVID-19 infection and the continuity of research activities (February 2nd)
Since the state of emergency has been recently declared again in Tokyo and Osaka Metropolitan Areas, NIED has taken appropriate preventive measures and promoted research and other activities adapted to the New Normal.
- Continuity of research activities

Responding to the 2nd emergency declaration issued by the government on January 7 2021, NIED has reduced the number of employees working in the NIED facilities and promoted teleworking. If necessary, please communicate by email so that staff can respond wherever they are.
- Entry to the NIED facilities

Entry of visitors with fever and respiratory symptoms (cough, breathing difficulty, etc.) to NIED facilities is not allowed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Every visitor entering NIED facilities will be asked about symptoms and signs of infection and required to disinfect their hands and fingers with disinfectant upon arrival. - Guided tours

Currently, tours have been resumed with several restrictions. Visitors who meet any of the following conditions will not be accepted:
・ From the areas under the state of emergency.
・ With symptoms including a fever, continuous coughing and fatigue.
・ Staying overseas within the last two weeks.
・ Not complying with our infection prevention measures including hand-wash and sanitization.
