Joint Workshop on Weather Radar with Weather Radar Center (WRC) was held on February 4th, 2021
Joint Workshop on Weather Radar was held online on February 4th, 2021, with about 30 participants from Storm, Flood and Landslide Research Division, National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED) and the Weather Radar Center, Korea Meteorological Administration (WRC/KMA).
This activity is based on the Memorandum of Cooperation between NIED and WRC on Cooperation in the field of Weather Radar, which was signed in 2017.
Participants from both sides gave presentations on quality control of radar observation data, weather monitoring techniques using weather radars, and application studies using weather radars, and productive discussions were held.
The workshop was concluded with a promise of the next opportunity, which is planned to be held in 2022 at KMA, where members can hopefully meet face-to-face.
