Expanding the Scope of Research Cooperation with the International Center for Environmental Monitoring CIMA Research Foundation, Italy
On the 6th of March, a delegation from NIED visited CIMA and signed a new MOC for comprehensive research cooperation. NIED and the International Center for Environmental Monitoring CIMA Research Foundation (CIMA) have been discussing the possibility of working together on climate change-induced weather-related disasters, which are increasing frequency and intensity. The two sides have worked on "scientific and technical cooperation for the prevention of snow-related disasters such as building collapses and floods."
With the signing of this MOC, CIMA and NIED have taken a new step forward. The new MOC includes research cooperation on meteorological disasters, including snow disasters, floods, droughts, and effects of climate change on the water cycle.
