Japan-Vietnam cooperation promotion delegation visits NIED
On March 27, 2024, a five-member delegation from Vietnam, including Dr. Tran Xuan Nam, Vice President of Le Quy Don Technical University and Dr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Deputy Director of VINASARCOM, visited the NIED’s Tsukuba HQs.
The Vietnamese delegation toured two experimental facilities, the Giant Rock Friction Testing Apparatus and Large-scale Rainfall Simulator, and received a briefing from Dr. MATSUURA Shohei, Deputy Director-General of NIED's International Affairs Division, on NIED's role in disaster management in Japan, followed by an exchange of opinions with NIED staff on possible cooperation and personnel exchange between Japan and Vietnam in the area of disaster management.
