NIED will appear on a YouTube program by the Asian Productivity Organization
On 30 April 2024, Dr. MATSUURA Shohei of the International Affairs Division, NIED, will appear on a YouTube program called “Productivity Talk” hosted by the Asian Productivity Organization (APO), an intergovernmental organization.
The topic, “Investing in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) to Enhance Productivity,” highlights the link between DRR and sustainable productivity and the need for resilience against economic and livelihood disruptions. Together with DRR consultant Mr. Timothy Wilcox, he will discuss the importance of investing in DRR and the effectiveness of cross-sectoral partnerships in building economic and community resilience. Good DRR practices from the Asia-Pacific region demonstrate how strategic efforts and long-term investments boost sustainable productivity growth.
