巨大地変災害研究領域　火山防災研究部門において、下記の研究開発を行う。

  1. 火山観測データ（地球物理学・物質科学等）に基づく火山活動評価に関する研究
  2. 火山災害に対するレジリエンス向上のための研究

  1. 博士の学位を有すること。
  2. 上記研究開発に従事する十分な研究能力と意欲を有すること。
  3. 上記研究開発に関連する火山学分野に関して十分な知識を有すること。

【雇用期間】

※試用期間あり（６ヶ月）

【勤務時間】
週５日、７時間４５分勤務（９：００～１７：３０ 昼休み４５分含む）
※土日祝日、年末年始（１２月２９日～翌１月３日）は休み
※フレックスタイム制度、裁量労働制度有

年次有給休暇、夏季特別休暇、育児休暇等
※有給休暇の付与日数は防災科学技術研究所職員勤務時間、休憩、休日及び休暇等規程に基づく

給与等

【給与等】
基本給（月額）300,800円～
※経験年数等により加算あり

【諸手当】
住居手当（上限28,000円）、地域手当（基本給の15％）、通勤手当（上限あり）、扶養手当、時間外勤務手当、賞与（期末・勤勉手当）年２回　等、当所規程に基づき支給

（業績評価の反映）
職員評価実施規程により１年間の勤務成績、研究業績に基づき評価を決定し、評価結果を昇給及び賞与に反映

One (1) Permanent Research Staff Member in Research Division for Volcanic Disasters, Department of Catastrophic Geohazard Research

Duties

（Immediately after hiring）
As a member of Research Division for Volcanic Disasters, Department of Catastrophic Geohazard Research, the following duties are expected.

  1. Research on the evaluation of volcanic activity, based on volcanic observation data.
  2. Research on the resilience against volcanic disaster threat.


（Scope of change）
If the employee is assigned to a secondment, the work to be performed will be determined by the company to which the employee is assigned.

Qualification Requirements
  1. Applicants must hold a Ph. D. degree.
  2. Applicants must have sufficient ability and motivation to conduct the research topics mentioned above.
  3. Applicants must have extensive knowledge in volcanology.
  4. Applicants must be highly motivated and ambitious in research planning and management related to the duties mentioned above.

Headquarters Tsukuba, NIED (3-1 Tennodai, Tsukuba-shi, Ibaraki-ken 305-0006, Japan) and location of telework as specified in the telework implementation regulations.

（Scope of change）
Location designated by the President of the National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience.

Term of Employment

【Start Date for Employment】
September 1, 2025 (negotiable).
*The first six months will be a probationary period.

【Working Hours】
From 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., including a 45 minute break.
Days off: Every Saturday and Sunday, national holidays, and New Year's holidays (December 29 – January 3)
*Flextime and the discretionary labor system are available.

【Vacation】
Annual paid vacation, special summer vacation, childcare leave, etc.
*The number of paid vacations granted is based on regulations.

Salary and Working Conditions

【Salary】
Base monthly salary : 300,800 yen or more.
*Additional salary may be provided based on years of experience, etc.

【Various allowances】
Housing allowance : Up to 28,000 yen.
Area allowance : 15% of the base monthly salary.
Commuting allowance (with an upper limit).
Family allowance.
Overtime allowance.
Bonus: Twice a year.

Your work performance and research achievements are evaluated at the end of each year in accordance with NIED’s guidelines, and the results are reflected in salary and bonus increases.
